I agree that no law prohibiting blasphemy be passed. Also, as I tell my Sunday School class, I want no law mandating prayer ih schools. As I ask them, "Would it be Muslim prayer, a Hindu prayer, or as some advocate a prayer so generic that it is meaningless. you hear so-called Christian prayer on TV shows which refuses to say, "in Jesus name."

I, for one, am thankful for the thoughtful planning you put into your preaching and other areas of your ministry as well. We, your flock, are blessed by all the hard work and preparation you do in leading us. Thank you.

My husband and I were visitors for the first time on Sunday, March 28, 2010. The young man who preached that day asked a general question: "Why is the church in moral decline today?" My answer to that is to comment on this particular blog, and to agree with your view that we live in a "sissy" society. Too many churches are "feel good," and that, my friend is a lie. Why should we feel good that we are sinners? We should only feel good that God's Son, Jesus Christ, died on the cross for our sins, paid the price, gave his life so we might have eternal life. We should not feel good because someone refuses to really preach to us...set us straight about the fact that we're going to hell unless we repent of our sin. We all suffer from the sin of deceitfulness. We are not true to ourselves, but instead try to hide ourselves from God.

I've been dealing with the new wave of "praise worship" for about 5 years now, and am trying my best to accept this way of worship. I will not, however, give up my belief that there must be God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit for us to navigate this world. It's not about "feeling good." Thank you for your church and its family. We hope to visit again.

I like this post. This idea of God being with me has been something often on my mind lately. That's probably brought about by your sermons, at least in part. It is an invaluable truth that the Creator God would not only be willing, but also want to be with me. That he would want me to know him is precious.
