Super Summer

Super Summer of Texas began in 1974 as a training opportunity for Christian young people who were interested in advancing their personal spiritual growth and wanted to know more about how to share Christ with others. During a week at Super Summer, students spend approximately twenty-four hours in evangelism and discipleship training sessions taught by effective youth leaders and pastors. Twenty-four short hours, packed with training that can be life-changing. Youth are challenged and equipped to become effective and innovative “missionaries” of God’s love on their school campuses and in their communities. Pastor Rusty has served as an executive staff dean and assistant dean at SS over the last decade and looks forward every year to taking students to East Texas Baptist University where session 1 of SS is held normally at the first part of June.

SJBA Missions Camp @ Lake Tomahawk

In 2009  the Executive Director of the San Jacinto Baptist Association, Dr.Randy Gilchrist, approached the Student Pastors of the Association and asked them what kind of camp they would like to see at Lake Tomahawk. From those meetings came three decisive goals for Youth Camp at LTBE…

  • Theologically sound teaching,
  • A missional emphasis that took the Gospel of Jesus Christ being shared by students and adults beyond the camps property lines.
  • A focus on supporting the local churches in the Livingston and Woodville areas.

We have just finished our 2nd missions camp since that time and God has truly done an amazing work through it.
