The central activity in the life of our church is our weekly time of worship each Sunday morning. We believe that this time of corporate prayer, singing, and teaching is vital to our lives individually and together. Each Lord’s Day we meet for worship, we do the following:
Sing Songs.
“…be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord in your heart…” (Ephesians 5:18-19)
Music is a gift from God which can help us engage our hearts along with our minds in the act of worship. The words of the songs we sing, based in the Bible and extolling the greatness of God and the gift of salvation, combined with the sounds of the instruments should stir up our emotions so that we feel greater love for Jesus.
Read Scripture.
“…devote yourself to the public reading of scripture…” (1 Timothy 4:13)
God has always used His Word to grant life to His people. Each Sunday we read together from the Bible, trusting that God is using His Word to impart spiritual blessing to His people.
Pray.
“…pray without ceasing…” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Prayer is one way we express our dependence on and faith in God. Together we pray for one another, for God’s continued grace in our lives, for the lost to be found, and for His kingdom to come in community and around the world.
Give.
“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)
When giving an offering to the church, we acknowledge that all things come from and belong to God, that we are stewards of His resources, that we trust Him to meet all our needs, and that we desire to see the gospel advanced in this world. We do not expect our guests to give financially. This element of our service is meant to be one more way that we respond to the grace and kindness of God in worship.
Preach the Word.
“…receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls…” (James 1:21)
The Bible is God’s primary means of revealing to us the truth of Jesus Christ. Every Sunday the Word of the God forms the center of our worship, and this is chiefly displayed in our commitment to biblical teaching. Because we believe that Scripture is both reliable and sufficient in all matters of our salvation, we are devoted to learning from God’s Word by the power of the Holy Spirit.
